Dutch Ukrainian Berry Industry Cluster

Build Ukraine Back Better.

About DUBIC

DUBIC is an initiative supported by the Dutch Government, dedicated to rebuilding Ukraine’s soft fruit sector into a globally leading and future-resilient industry.

Berries are symbols of health and vitality, and from Ukraine’s fertile soils some of the finest berries in Europe are grown, cultivated by strong and resilient people with warm and proud hearts committed to Europe’s shared future.

Our Goals

We are guided by a set of core values that shape everything we do. From how we grow to how we give back, we focus on initiatives that create lasting, meaningful impact.

Regenerative Agriculture

We believe in farming that restores rather than depletes. Through regenerative agriculture, we aim to rebuild soil health, increase biodiversity, and create resilient ecosystems for future generations.

Supporting Those Affected by the War

We are committed to creating opportunities for Ukrainian veterans and others affected by the war. By involving them in our work, we strive to support recovery, dignity, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Regrowing Ukraine

Our vision goes beyond today. We contribute to the long-term regrowth of Ukraine by investing in sustainable practices, local communities, and initiatives that help rebuild both land and livelihoods.

What We Do

Over the four-year period through 2029, we are establishing regenerative strawberry production for the smoothie industry and regenerative blueberry production for the fresh market across several farms throughout Ukraine.

These activities include regenerative farming projects at 12 farms, among them the Agricultural Illintsi College and the social initiative Agro Camp at the agricultural research institute in Vinnytsia, ensuring that the knowledge developed in regenerative strawberry cultivation becomes institutionalised and widely shared.

Our Growers

The growers at the heart of this project are committed, forward-looking producers who are rebuilding and strengthening Ukraine’s berry sector under challenging circumstances.

By adopting sustainable, climate-responsible practices and working collaboratively, they are laying the foundation for a resilient, high-quality supply for international markets.
